Color Grids Project

For this project we had to take photos that we then turned into grids, we had different options for our grids: color complement, color harmonies, monochrome and rainbow. I loved this project because of the amount of possibilities and creativity we were allowed in our grids. My personal favorite is my fourth grid because of the color gradient and abstract look.

Opposites- My color complement grid.
Whale- My monochrome grid, This a series of photos I took in Mexico a year ago. I cropped them and created a preset I love the progression through the photos.

Autumn leaves- I love this grid because of the funky colors, it is a collection of 32 images.

Transitions- My fourth grid where I repeated one of my grids four times then added a tint to each one.
Dandelion- My fifth grid where I messed around with the saturation, mixed warm and cool colors to achieve a retro effect. I choose to do this one because I enjoy the depth the color and shape add to the photo.
Simplicity- My sixth grid, I like how simple it is and how it almost looks like a drawing.

Fall Colors- My seventh grid, I love this one because of the vibrant colors and the progression from one photo to more.

Man of the forest- A series of photos I took on a trip to Borneo, Indonesia last summer. all close-ups of orangutan faces. I love this because it captures the character of the orangutans perfectly, it is another monochrome grid.

Portland Sunset- I think the contrast between the yellow and blue set a calming and relaxing mood along with the contrast of the trees.

Project three: Color wheel

Aurora- Daniel Sroka
In this photo the redish pink and green complement each other, and the pink flowing into the orange at the bottom set a relaxing tone. The soft green in the background lets the pink in the front pop out slightly, encouraging this calm tone.

Project 2: Composition

For this project we took photos that fall under eight categories: frame within a frame, birds eye, bugs eye, leading lines, diagonals, rule of thirds, filling the frame and close-up; After taking them we edited them in light room. I really liked this project because we got to explore different shooting techniques that I believe improved my photos.

Two subject project

For this project we had to take 30 pictures of two subjects to explore our cameras and different angles. For most of these photos I tried to transform the photos in lightroom; increase the quality of my photos through the edits. These are the best five images from the bunch.
Whiskers- This photo is probably my favorite. I think that the soft focus and the blue in the background make the whiskers pop out. I lowered the brightness a bit and sharpened his whiskers to make the contrast more dramatic and brought out the blue just the tiniest bit.

Through the leaves- I love this photo because of the light peaking through the leaves. I used the black and white setting in lightroom and made the lights a little brighter so they would be more dramatic. I also added a slight vignette to increase the overall effect of the photo.
Cat's eye- I love this photo; I think his eyes are super interesting so I made them the focal point of the photo. I brought out the blue in his eyes just a little bit, and sharpened the photo and his whiskers to increase the contrast.
Cluster of Leaves- I think that the texture in this photo is great; I used the black and white feature in my camera and added a little bit of contrast to this photo; I also increased the clarity.
In the Branches- I love the color in this photo and I think the branches in focus and the ones not are really interesting together. I cropped this photo and increased the saturation a little bit.

My Summer.

This summer was very busy, between volleyball and trips I had little free time but I didn't mind I love both volleyball and travel. I played beach volleyball for the first time which was a lot different from indoor but really fun. When I wasn't playing volleyball I was traveling, it was amazing how much I got to see my family who I never normally get to see. I went to Colorado, California, Washington, Montana and Hawaii all of these to see family; I got to see my Great aunt and uncle who live in colorado, twice this summer which I never get to do. Probably my favorite trip of this summer was to Hawaii; We went to Kona which is on the big island of Hawaii for both my grandparents 80th birthdays. My family and I love the Big Island due to how beautiful and interesting it is; But we chose it because my grandma said her one of her favorite places and by far her favorite place in Hawaii is the Kona shore so as a family we thought it would be a great idea to go. Overall I think I had a great summer, and will definitely miss it.

A photo I took of the Green Sand Beach, Hawaii.
