Project 9: Prework

For this project we are going to be taking fine art portraits and commercial portraits. In my research I've noticed there's some overlap in these two but they are also very separate. Both can have funky styling and soft lighting, however I've noticed that the commercial photography seems to "pop" a lot more with lots of vibrant colors. While fine art seems to be less saturated. Commercial photography also highlights the clothing while fine art is more about saying something.

Olga Astratova- (Fine art) I think the desaturated colors and use of props really give this image a cool effect and really work for it. I also like how the colors are all very similar and blend.

Indolence, Jacqueline Roberts- (Fine art) I Think the intense lighting and composition of this photo make it super dramatic and dynamic. I think making this photo black and white works well too.

VOGUE (couldn't find photographer)-  I think the intense lighting highlights the model and the clothing nicely. I also think that the use of props worked well in this photo. I also think the cohesive colors add a nice effect.

VOGUE (couldn't find photographer)- I really like how the styling, composition and lighting give this photo a whimsical tone. The basic background with a compatible color also make this cover work the neutrals with the light blue go together nicely.
